ISRO Prepares to Launch Chandrayaan-3 on July 13, Aiming to Make History
Indian Space Research Organization (ISRO) is making final preparations to launch Chandrayaan-3, with the target date set for July 13. In a significant milestone, the encapsulated assembly of Chandrayaan-3 was successfully attached to the LVM-3 rocket at the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota on Wednesday. ISRO shared a video on Twitter, providing information about the upcoming mission.
The previous mission, Chandrayaan-2, was launched on July 22, 2019. However, the Vikram lander, during its attempt to land on the moon’s South Pole, faced a setback and was destroyed on September 7, 2019, after two moon landings. Since then, India has been diligently preparing for the Chandrayaan-3 mission.
With Chandrayaan-3, ISRO aims to study the moon extensively, continuing its lunar exploration endeavors. If successful, India will become the fourth country in the world to achieve the feat of landing a spacecraft on the moon, following the United States, Russia, and China.
India’s first lunar mission, Chandrayaan-1, was successfully launched in 2008. However, the subsequent launch of Chandrayaan-2 encountered difficulties in 2019. Now, India is determined to make history by launching Chandrayaan-3. The launch will take place from the Satish Dhawan Space Center in Sriharikota, showcasing India’s growing capabilities in space exploration.
