English Essay: MY BEST FRIEND

I am a very friendly person and get along well with most of the boys and girls in my school. My best friend, however, is Rahul. Rahul sits next to me in class. Somehow, I have a soft corner for him. And not just because he sits next to me in class!

Rahul is very gentle and caring. I remember how surprised and happy I was when he came to visit me when I was sick. I didn’t know he liked me so much. I am a little hot headed, and when I get angry, Rahul cools me down with his soothing words. To this day, we have never quarreled. And we have been friends for the last three years!

Rahul always gets a first class in every examination. He is particularly good at Mathematics. I tend to be hasty and make mistakes. It is Rahul who helps me solve many difficult problems.

Rahul proved that he was a true friend the day I fell into a spot of trouble. Bunty was a classmate who was quite jealous of me. He used to harass me to let him copy homework from my notebook. Once he was desperate. But I refused, as I usually did. Bunty was punished severely by the teacher. After school he accosted me and spoke rudely to me. He seemed to be on the point of striking me. Just then Rahul intervened and threatened to report Bunty’s behavior to the principal. Thus I was saved due to the timely help of my friend.

I am very peaceful, and, yes, quite happy when Rahul is around. We enjoy games, movies, outings and picnics together. Rahul is more than a brother to me. He is, without doubt, the best friend I have ever had.
